It was 11pm and I was heading back to my campsite from a long day hiking from Yosemite Valley when I saw a glow on the horizon. I pulled off at a turnoff to search for the source. I found it in a patch of snow atop Half Dome, illuminated by the moonlight. The sky held onto some of twilight as the blue and pink tones departed with the arrival of the cool night air. I slowed down and captured this scene with my manual focus lens and a two second exposure. It was a beautiful moment all alone in the wilderness.
