It was 11pm and I was heading back to my campsite in Hodgdon Meadows after a wonderful day hiking from Yosemite Valley. I rounded a bend and a glow of white in the distance caught my eye. I pulled off at a turnabout and saw this scene. Snow on the top of Half Dome was illuminated by a lunar glow and the last color of a long twilight drifted from the sky with a cool night breeze. It was a beautiful moment all alone up in the Sierras. I was grateful to take a moment, slow down and capture it with a long exposure two second exposure using a manual focus lens.
