This photo was created while I worked in the Desert Tortoise Conservation Center in the Mojave Desert south of Las Vegas, Nevada. I don't know if this photo qualifies, but the facility was located on BLM land and people do use the surrounding land for recreation and hiking. Funny, but my favorite photo in this facility isn't a tortoise, but is of a Burrowing Owl who used to watch me as I went about my daily work. Camera Nikon D200, lens Nikon 70-300mm f4/5-5.6. Adobe Photoshop Elements used to crop in closer, and that's all.
