This trail is on the Nevada side of Hoover Dam and the Colorado River, part of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The photo was taken from the trail as I stopped my hike to Hoover Dam to set up for photos. The trail used to be a railroad line for the transport of materials and equipment for the creation of Hoover Dam. It is not unusual to see Big Horn Sheep near the trail, sometimes on the trail. These majestic animals were up on a hill by the trail. Camera Nikon D200, lens Nikon 70mm-300mm f/4.5-5.6. I used Adobe Photoshop Elements to crop in a little closer, raise saturation, vibrancy, and adjusted exposure slightly. January 2011.
