Located in the northern part of Death Valley in California, Obehebe Crater was created by a volcanic explosion that occurred most likely over 1,000 years ago (I've read various estimates). It is inactive now and you are allowed to walk down to the bottom, but the scenery is better along the rim tops. Camera Nikon D200, lens Nikon 18-70mm f3/5-4/5. Made February 2009.
