Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge

This is a wild red wolf and one of the sub-adults who is a member of the first litter born in the wild since 2018! I've seen a good amount of wildlife as a photographer but red wolves are my absolute favorite subjects. Their grace and beauty, their struggle to survive extinction and the impressions they make on people who get the rare chance to see or photograph one is profound.
