Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park is one of only a few dark sky areas in Virginia. Due to it's open skies, it is a perfect place to see our cosmic neighborhood. My daughter and I love to spend nights there getting creative with the Milky Way. The Big Meadows sign is also the quintessential national park service sign and a perfect foreground setting for the nocturnal fireworks.
