America's iconic symbol was not once abundant, and in fact, was nearly decimated. Now a success story, the adult male bison pictured here, nicknamed "Colorado" was a test tube baby from the state. All bison on Rio Mora National Wildlife Refuge are used for grassland management and are managed by the Pueblo of Pojoaque.
