The Silversword is a flower found at Haleakala National Park. It can live up to 90 years and it only blooms once in it’s lifetime. This is the Silversword flower up close. Please pay attention to how closely it resembles the sunflower. Also notice the fine hairs on the leaves, those hairs collect moisture from the clouds, this allow the Silverswords to thrive at such a high elevation!!!
