Every year over 40,000 boats pass through the nation's busiest lock system. Even more locals and tourists alike stand enthralled as the boats rise and fall through the locks which connect Puget Sound to the west and Lake Washington to the east. This picture was taken during a sunset stroll through the park. I paused for a moment on the walkway across the lock (before it raised to let the boat through) to snap photos of the train bridge, the sunset and the boats entering the lock.
