Last year, I was lucky enough to spend autumn in Grand Teton National Park. I worked the summer there and I still remember that first moment fall was arriving. You know the feeling? That first morning that the air is just a little bit more crisp, the first scent of falling leaves. It was a feeling of renewal, the promise of vibrant colors, and cozy nights by the fire. I just had to get out and hike. I returned to one of my favorite trails, Taggert. And within minutes of hitting the dirt path, I fell in love with the Tetons all over again. The grandiose peaks towered in front of me, almost surreal against the bright blue canvas of the sky. The forest, a mix of summer green and autumn gold. It was just what I needed. I can't wait to feel that feeling again.
