While visitors to the Badlands generally come seeking illusive megafauna like bighorn sheep or bison, every person is virtually guaranteed to see a smaller critter on their visit -- the humble prairie dog. These multitudinous creatures are abundant in the Badlands, and can provide some wonderful entertainment if you stop to visit one of their "towns."
