Cardinal rule in photography, never shoot pictures when the sunlight is too harsh as they cause deep shadows. Call me lucky! During a recent photo hunt in Yosemite, an Australian visitor and I saw this spot while driving to Misty Trail. We stopped to look for a good vantage point to shoot. I did my best to capture the moment. I set my camera to a high contrast. The deep shadows apparently fell on the right spots. Bonus points was the nice cloud formation and the exhaust of a plane passing over head. This photo was taken with a Pentax K5 with 18-135 mm set at 28 mm, F6.7 at 1/200 sec at ISO 200. no flash.
