Earlier this year, I did my first solo hike. I started getting into hiking about a year and a half ago, but, as a woman, solo hiking always scared me. Once I finally felt prepared and I did it, I was hooked, and I felt hiking could be a way for me to be healthier and more physically active. This was the first solo hike I did in my home state of NH- Mt Chocorua. It was incredibly beautiful, and I was pleasantly surprised at my improved fitness level and how much I had improved my skills and abilities since I started hiking in 2021! This photo of the shadow of me and my trekking poles is a fun reminder of this milestone.
