Mesa Verde has more archaeological sites not seen by the public that require special permission to visit. This tower is one of those Ancestral Puebloan sites. It took 45 min to reach, which involved hiking down a canyon and back up, blazing our own trail. He is a happy tower. The site also includes an extensive midden, retaining wall, and several other collapsed structures.
