We spent a week in Yellowstone and had so much excitement looking at the wildlife from afar and on our last day in the park we were able to drive the Grand Loop. On the last bit of the drive before getting into Lamar Valley we seen so many cars pulled over so we got out to see what was going on. We found out that Momma Bear left her two cubs in the tree sleeping to go haunt for food, and she found it. We were lucky enough that the Rangers let us all stand with distance of seeing everything. We stood out there for about 2 hours watching these little guys sleep to waking up and playing and going half way down the tree and then back up. Momma bear found a Momma Elk who just had a baby and sadly she killed the baby for food for her littles. Toward the end Momma Bear came down from the hill side to get her cubs and take them to the killing. The Momma Elk though was so upset and hurt she followed her back down and yelled and screamed at the Bears, I've never heard such sound and it was so heartbreaking but I know its part of the life cycle. First she sat against the tree for them to fed and then they all took off up the hillside.
