Continental Divide and Mt Ida
It was my very first visit to RMNP. I drove the Trail Ridge Road, parked the car near Continental Divide trailhead and hiked up to Mt Ida at 12900 feet. Big mistake! Despite I am a solid hiker, I felt sick and was slow due to altitude. Otherwise the trail is great with very long views in every direction. Just be quick and return to the valley before 3 PM. There is a high probability of thunderstorms and lightning. See the clouds. I was there at 2 PM, heard thunders and ran quickly down.
