Badlands National Park

I came to the Badlands National Park specifically for the mule deer rut. I've come to this area within the park three years in a row. I find walking slowing through this area during the rut to be an amazing experience. If you come at the right time you will see majestic bucks strolling around the park with one thing in mind. They don't stop searching and fighting and running for weeks and weeks. It's understandable that a good deal of these large bucks do not survive the winter because they expend so much energy during the rut. I look forward to coming back next year to see it once again.
