A western screech owl making use of a south facing tree hollow. This was taken in the Sage Creek wilderness area. It's hard to describe my overexcitement in seeing this little guy in the first tree on a hike specifically taken to find owls in hollows. I was excited. He/she was not. Only my first two images include an awake owl.
