I was photographing some Great Blues early one morning at Bombay Hook NWR, when I heard this loud humming sound coming my way but didn't see anything. All of a sudden I saw this huge group of large white birds flying over the marsh coming towards me. At first I thought it was a group of Great Egrets but as they got closer I saw they were Mute Swans.
Since I rarely see swans in flight and hearing their rhythmic humming long before I saw them flying over the pond, it was such a serene beautiful visual treat. Something I will never forget. I was thrilled to get this shot of them and glad I could share it with you.
