Driving through Acadia we noticed a sign that said Wildwood Stables. We were unaware of the historical and cultural significance carriages and stables played in the role of the 1900 residents on Mount Desert Island. When we drove up we were delighted to see that the stables were still in use and you could even take a carriage tour.
We asked if we could go in to see the old barn and found the Percherons in my picture were enjoying an afternoon snack, just like old friends
