Visiting Acadia National Park last Fall, we took a short hike to Hadlock Falls. The hike to the falls was memorable because I wore a pair of brand new turquoise sneakers - I thought it was going to be an easy walk on a groomed trail.... oops. Instead, it was a narrow path full of muddy patches and puddles - I probably got twice as many steps in with all the jumping and tiptoeing I did to keep my shoes clean! I kept thinking, "I hope the falls are worth it!" (and "why did I wear these shoes??"). Once we hit the falls, I forgot all about my shoes because it was definitely worth it! It was just a small flow, but this was my first time shooting a waterfall with a slow shutter speed, trying to get the blurred water effect. I think the lighter flow even helped the photo and I'm really happy with how this first experience came out! And if you're wondering, I managed to make it back out again with minimal impact to my sneakers ;)
