We visited Tuolumne Grove in Yosemite with the goal of seeing the giant sequoias. While it was fun to marvel at their height, my favorite tree was actually this one that had fallen down. I was amazed at the intricacies you could see from where the roots were broken and I found it so beautiful. It gave us a rare glimpse into the what lays beneath those tall trunks and everything we don't normally see. And although there are no people in the photo for perspective, this was still an incredibly huge tree - I could stand in the hollow area with plenty of room to spare above my head!
