I took this photo of an abandoned car at the old Journigan Mill in Emigrant Canyon in Death Valley. The site was littered with broken glass, scrap metal, and yes, a few rusted out vehicles. The site operated from 1930-1950, and its success is a testament to those who built successful enterprises such as mines and mills in the harsh conditions of the desert.
