Passing by the Hayden Valley, in the afternoon, our eyes were soon struck by the beautiful colors and depth of the cliffs of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone as they plummeted down to the rapidly flowing waters of the Yellowstone River far below. The site was breathtaking.
