We met this very friendly 76-year old from Houghton, Michigan while hiking. She was traveling the West visiting National Parks in her camper van. She was traveling alone as she said none of her friends were up for the journey. We hiked many of the same trails during the day, and she was as in awe of the basalt landscape as we were. It was nearing the end of the day, and we were wrapping up. She said she had one more hike in her. And, off she went.
