The community gardens owned by the National Park Service in Alexandria Va. provide food for local wildlife in the form of fallen and over ripe produce _ the gardeners naturally try to protect most of their produce for themselves. Nevertheless deer, groundhogs, foxes, squirrels, birds, and raccoons have been seen partaking over the years. Including box turtles. So nice to see one now - they used to be so common growing up and now are infrequently seen.
