While camping in Colorado, my husband and I decided to make a day trip to the Colorado National Monument. Along this spectacular scenic road, we stopped to photograph some Desert Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis). Once in danger of becoming extinct, they were reintroduced to this area in 1979. Currently, about 40 bighorn sheep live in the Colorado National Monument.
