This photo was taken the first week in October at about 6,000 feet up, at the foot of the Easton Glacier on Mt. Baker, a gorgeous stratovolcano in the North Cascades. This spot also has acres of wild huckleberries to pick. I spent three days there, climbing as high up as I could go while avoiding the glacier, and picking a small bear can full of huckleberries. I was six hours from the closest mobile phone coverage, and I felt truly alone with nature. It was amazing.
