The perpetual snow caps surrounding Grinnell Glacier are visible just around the corner. The sun is especially strong at this altitude, but a welcome breeze off the ice makes the air increasingly sharp with cold. This is our last stop to admire the fall foliage carpeting the mountainside before our final rocky ascent to the lake.
