In the foothills of the Guadalupe Mountains, we descend 800 feet beneath the Chihuahuan Desert into a spectacular cavernous world. Stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, cave pearls, soda straws, and helictites are among the speleothems that adorn the chambers of Carlsbad Caverns.
