After a day of hiking around the park, and seeing Old Faithful erupt earlier in the day, we wanted to experience it under the stars. We grabbed our gear and headed over a bit before it was estimated to erupt to get a good spot and then were not disappointed as it erupted with the Milky Way in the background. We even saw some shooting stars that added to the incredible experience.
