With rainy weather predicted in the valley next week this scene could possibly repeat at the Grand Canyon.

In February of 2018 a snow storm quickly begins to move South from one side of the Grand Canyon to the other.

As we were driving back toward home base to beat the storm I noticed something to my right. Upon pulling over there began the tiniest opening in the dark dark sky allowing some light through.
In the time it took for me to set up the shot, the light grew brighter, sweeping across the distant buttes. This moment of light revealed the storm beginning to drop snow on the North Rim.

By the time I put the gear in back in my bag and got in the truck, the light was literally gone, and the snow had made it to or side of the canyon as we headed home. I will never forget this scene as the shot can't begin to do it justice.
