While hiking up Gunsight Pass, I pause, crouching towards the inner edge of the narrow pathway to allow space for a goat to pass who is headed downhill. The bright sun illuminates his white coat as he steps out of the shade while waterfalls cascade down ribbons of red on the other side of the pass.
