Big Bend National Park

My friend Jackie and I hiked from Big Bend to Boquilles Canyon, Mexico, alone in about a week, camping in a tent. We saw a rattlesnake, tarantulas, and scorpions, but it was worth it for these views. We used only topo maps and a compass, but registered with the National Parks Rangers station first. Jackie and I were in our highschool Environmental Club. We were only about 18 years old. We are two couragous women who survived in a desert that many people die in for lack of water.
