Harvey Monroe Hall Research Natural Area (Inyo National Forest, CA)

A short trip over the ridge from their backpacking camp led these hikers to the Conness Lakes, a grouping of turquoise lakes under the spectacular and expansive Mt. Conness. The girls chose to go further and explore the "upper lakes" on the next shelf with their friends, making for a satisfying scramble of a day.
