The Lower Falls of the Yellowstone, Artist's Point, June 15, 2013, 7:02 am.
After a 4 inch snowfall in the Park overnight, I waited for that perfect "break of dawn" shot of a much recorded scene. At the ready for an hour in 26 degrees staring into a sea of white, waiting for the fog to dissipate and reveal the canyon and the falls, I finally caught a glimpse of wonder to come. I snapped this shot in preparation - but a gust of wind later, the fog settled back onto the river! Next year!
