Photo was taken at 6:52 MSDT at Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. After watching the sunrise on the lake and the distant peaks, this vista appeared as a bank of clouds put the mountain peaks in the shade while leaving the lakeshore illuminated in bright sunlight. This was also the first time in an hour and a half of shooting at the lake that Sprague was completely still. When I fist saw the image on the cameral I almost discarded it as a mistake! I am glad I looked again.
