As I read the signs behind the cannon saying that this was the very place where the headquarters of Generals Jackson, Lee and Longstreet from Sept 6-9, 1862 and it was here that they signed the "famous lost order no.191" as well as the "proclamation to the people of Maryland", I felt like I was not just learning history, I was living it.
