My family was fortunate enough to receive a permit to hike to the top of Half Dome through the permit lottery system in June. This photo captures my two oldest children as they crest the lower dome and get their first good view of the cables they will use to climb the back slope of Half Dome. The looks on their faces were priceless ... and so was the view from the top!
