After camping two nights and returning from a morning hike, we discovered our neighbor - a Mojave Green rattle snake. This truly beautiful rattler took advantage of his quite-time without guests to sun bathe on the ledge right above our camp. On our return, he quickly retreated to his secret hole, giving us a stunning eye-level view of his stunning tail. We camped two more nights with our host. We didn't bother him, he didn't bother us - he just stayed quietly in his den and never shook a rattle
