This photo was taken as a long exposure at Long lake in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains. The trailhead is off of south lake just west of Bishop in California. While my father and brother slept in their hammocks, I was on the lake waiting to catch the milky way rise. My dog wouldn't let me go out alone and he stayed with me the entire time. We sat on the lakebed time lapsing the milky way all through the night in the freezing weather.
