This Red-shoulder Hawk was photographed in Shark Valley, Florida Everglades. Though birds of prey normally have the upper hand in a territory contest, this particular bird was under the control of a column of ants traversing the branch in which he chose to land. The ants were aggravating enough that he was constantly kept hopping and flapping up and down on them with an occasional talon karate kick tossed in for good measure.
