The day that my friend, Deidre, and I decided to visit the White Sands National Monument, my car window broke and the air conditioning gave out. However, our low morale quickly dissolved as we experienced the majesty of the monument and when we learned that we could spend the day sledding on the dunes our awe turned to elation. This still is some of the best fun and most memorable days I have ever had! This photo is of Deidre sledding down a particularly tall and steep dune.
