After visiting RMNP for several summers, I had never stopped at Sprague Lake. As an quick evening hike, we decided to give the flat one-mile loop a try... and now it is one we recommend to everyone who visits the park! It was beautiful in the evening as the sun set and the colors on the water and mountain backdrop changed. We also saw deer, ducks, and fishermen, making it obvious why this was the location to early vacationers in the park.
