On my first trip to Alaska this summer, two friends and I visited Denali National Park and did a three day backcountry trip. I was amazed by the wild, trail-less wilderness and fascinated with the glaciers, abundant wildlife, and 24 hour light. This photo was taken from our tent on our last night in the backcountry at midnight on the summer solstice - the longest day of the year. I took hundreds of pictures of "the mountain" on the trip, but this one is my favorite because it is so unique.
