We followed a group of people to bottom of hill to watch a huge grizzly bear in action. He swam across the river onto this island. He went into the brush and we heard the screaming of an elk calf. He sat and ate the calf for a little and then got up and went back into the brush, when we heard the screaming again of another elk calf. At this point, the mother elk came running across the river to try and draw the bear away from her baby but it was too late. He had both of her calves for dinner.
