The Park Ranger at Wrangell-St. Elias National Park accompanied us on a nature walk in the moss-covered, and mushroom-dotted terrain, among the black spruce and quaking aspen trees. Our personable Park Ranger was full of humorous asides. As she pointed out the bright red berries growing on low bushes, that is a favorite bear treat, she warned us not to get between a hungry bear and its lunch. My wife, Sally (in picture, taken 8/24/2013), moved away from the berry bushes.
