Night falls
This image, taken as the moon set behind El Capitan, captures the essence of Yosemite and brings together star trails in the night sky, courtesy of very low light pollution; the full, silky flow of a roaring Upper Yosemite Fall illustrating the snow melt, and vibrant green grasses of the meadows that show spring is in session. The fast flowing Merced is caught reflecting the falls beautifully like a mirror. Despite being taken in the darkness of the night, there is much to see.
