Hiking down the South Kaibab Trail at dawn on May 30, 2012. My son and I were hiking to Bright Angel Campground and got an early start to beat the heat (it was 105F in the shade at noon at the bottom of the Grand Canyon). I liked this photo; the early morning light brought out the color and depth of the canyon. I also have photos of my son next to this juniper tree from hikes in 2004, 2006 and 2009; the tree hasn't changed a bit!
